Hello! I’m Robert McCants, and I’m excited to be your Algebra II teacher at West Creek High School for the 2024-2025 school year. Math is more than just numbers—it’s a puzzle waiting to be solved, and I’m here to make that journey both fun and engaging!

A bit about me: I graduated as Valedictorian and earned an Associate’s degree in Teaching in May 2021. I recently completed my Bachelor's degree from The University of Maine and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. This is my first year teaching, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of your academic journey!

In our classroom, I aim to make math accessible, enjoyable, and meaningful. Whether we’re graphing, solving equations, or tackling new concepts, my goal is to support every student in mastering Algebra II. Get ready for an exciting year filled with challenges, growth, and plenty of "aha" moments. Together, we’re going to make this an unforgettable and successful year!

Welcome to Algebra II! In our classroom, we believe that a positive and respectful environment is key to everyone’s success. Here are a few expectations to help us all thrive this year:

  1. Respect Each Other: We’re all in this together! Let’s treat everyone—classmates, teachers, and ourselves—with kindness and respect. A supportive classroom is a successful classroom.

  2. Be Prepared: Bring your materials, a positive attitude, and a readiness to learn every day. Preparation is the first step toward success.

  3. Stay Engaged: Whether we’re tackling equations, working in groups, or exploring new concepts, active participation is essential. Ask questions, share your ideas, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes—that’s how we learn!

  4. Try Your Best: Effort counts! Whether math comes easily to you or it’s a bit of a challenge, giving your best effort will help you grow and succeed.

  5. Follow Directions: Listen carefully to instructions, whether they’re coming from me or a classmate during group activities. Clear communication helps everything run smoothly.

  6. Keep it Positive: We all have good days and tough days, but keeping a positive attitude makes the tough days easier and the good days even better!

These expectations are here to ensure that everyone has the best possible experience in our Algebra II class. Let’s work together to make this year a great one!
